About Me

I have been involved in counselling for many years working as a bereavement counsellor for the London Borough of Barnet and as a mentor and student counsellor at a college of further education where I worked as an English language lecturer. My initial counselling training was in person-centred counselling at Haringey College in 1990 then later at the College of North-East London.

I have always had an interest in psychology and healing and understanding the human psyche has been a lifetime’s passion. In 1998-2001 I undertook a professional training course in homeopathy and since then have run a successful homeopathy practice in North West London (www.ashbournehomeopathycentre.co.uk)

My main source of inspiration for my work comes from my lifelong personal journey of self-inquiry and self-discovery as well as from my interest in eastern spiritual philosophy, mysticism and the teachings of Buddhism. I also have a deep respect and admiration of Carl Rogers who pioneered Person-centred therapy and have gained much from the works of Carl Jung, J. Krishnamurti, RD Laing and Fritz Perls. Most importantly, however, I have been inspired and informed by the teachings of Barry Long, the Australian Spiritual master, without whose help and wisdom I would never have been able to wake up to the truth and find my life’s purpose (www.barrylong.org).

I have always enjoyed working with individuals in a therapeutic relationship and I believe I have developed the required skills and experience to deal with all kinds of personal issues. I endeavour to create a confidential, respectful and trusting relationship in which clients can feel safe about opening up in order to explore sometimes painful emotional issues. My interest in meditation has enabled me to use meditation techniques in my work as a means to access a still and peaceful mind. Although I have an eclectic approach to therapy, I also offer clients an opportunity to explore more transpersonal,  spiritual and existential issues.
